As the Head of Curriculum at Kingston State School I would like to welcome you to the new school year. I am proud to be a member of the Kingston team and believe we do a fantastic job planning, teaching and assessing our students.

The 2013 School opinion survey shows that parents agree:

In response to: ‘My child is getting a good education at this school’

100% of Kingston parents agreed.

2013 promises to be an exciting year for the school community. Recent data shows that we are a fantastic school providing rich learning experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Parents and carers are integral to each student’s learning and are encouraged to be involved. This can be as a classroom helper, or simply by attending and supporting school events. Correspondence via letters, the school website and newsletters will keep you informed of relevant dates.

In 2012 we introduced the Learning Studio concept, the new name for our school library. This is a flexible space that aims to inspire and support student learning for the 21st century. This year the space will be a hub of activity before, during and after school. Students can access traditional library materials along with a variety of digital devices.

We encourage parents and carers to spend some time in the Learning Studio to explore their child’s learning with them.
